Jesus, No Disciples.

A grudge is still held, between these NBA hall of famers.

The former 2008 NBA Champion team greats met up on TNT last night, but were missing a member of the party. Known as Jesus Shuttlesworth to many, Ray Allen did not take part in the former Celtics’ festivities.

Kevin Garnett, Kendrick Perkins, Rajon Rondo, Big Baby Davis, and Paul Pierce made an appearance on KG’s Area 21 segment. They discussed many topics, going online during the Warriors vs Jazz Game 4, and took over on television for the fourth quarter.

Among the many (interesting) things they commentated over, fans on Twitter were demanding answers for the absence of Ray Allen, and they responded:

For those of you not familiar with the story. Ray Allen was apart of that 2008 NBA Finals team, and played with the Celtics for five seasons. In 2012, Boston lost to Miami in Game 7 of the NBA Finals, just before Allen entered free agency. With tensions high between Allen and the front office, he accepted a lesser offer from the Heat in hopes of winning another ring.

That’s right Durant, you were not the first.

To make matters worse, Allen ended up playing a pivotal role in the Heat’s 2013 championship, and did win that second ring. All four of them expressed sour feelings over the “breakup,” except for Rondo, who clashed with Allen in their final seasons.

“I just feel like, it ain’t what Ray did, but how he did it.” -Kendrick Perkins

“I was initially hurt by the whole way everything went down, we formed a brotherhood here in Boston.” -Paul Pierce

“Just being honest, my two cents, when Ray decided to go to the Heat, I felt like he moved on.” -Kevin Garnett

Preparing to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their championship, they agreed that Allen would not be invited. In response to words by his former teammates, the former Celtic posted this on Facebook, but it was quickly deleted:

They all agreed that the five of them would one day make peace, but that it would be Rondo himself who makes the call.

Time heals all wounds, but grudges are meant to be held. This may be headline news on their 20th anniversary.
