No Durant? No Dilemma!

Iguodala has been playing great with Durant out.

After the Durant injury, Warriors fans were worried when they entered a slump. Now, all doubts have been silenced, as the Warriors unleashed their secret weapon.

After losing four out of six games, the Golden State Warriors have won ten straight games as we edge closer to the playoffs. Once Durant was injured, Andre Iguodala was called up to the big leagues, a role he’s familiar with.

Before I delve into his latest contributions, let me take you on a flashback. The year is 2015, and the Golden State Warriors are going to win the NBA Finals. In an impressive 4-2 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, a hero emerged, none other than Andre Iguodala. In that NBA Finals sequence, the 10-year veteran (at that time), went on to average: 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4 assists on 52% shooting from the field, winning the Finals MVP award.

All this to say, well number one that people really forget about that performance. Number two, that moving to a role position for the Warriors is nothing new for the now 12-year veteran.

Fast forward two years, the Warriors are on a roll, with a lot of credit due to this man. In their sixteen games without Durant, Iguodala has posted eight games with 10+ points, and eight with 2+ steals.

He’s been playing both sides of the ball well, and has averaged 10.5 points on 51% shooting in this span. His turnover rates are down, and he’s shooting better from both the field and behind the arc.

Set to play at least four more games at the same pace, expect Iguodala to maintain this level of play for as long as required by the Golden State Warriors.
